Loretta Hamilton - Watercolor
Artist Statement:
I can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to draw. So I grew up with dreams of attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In the end, however, my practical side won out and I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Roosevelt University and went to work in the corporate world. I didn’t give up the dream however, and eventually attended a few art classes and workshops most recently studying with private art instructors who are expert watercolor artists themselves. I have also tried a few other mediums but in the end, watercolor is my passion and I am happiest when I can just apply brilliant color to the watercolor paper.
Artist Biography:
Loretta lives in Naples, Florida. She is a member of the Center for the Arts in Bonita Springs, FL. Her work has been exhibited in the River North art district of downtown Chicago, Poe M. Art House in Downers Grove, the Michael J. Fox Foundation Art Exhibit in Naperville, and in designer shops and galleries in the Chicagoland area. Her work was also featured as part of the set design in the full-length motion picture “Spades”.
