Valerie Blauvelt is a contemporary American artist who lives and works both in Naples, Florida and Canandaigua, New York.
She excels in the use of color and texture to achieve a variety of visual effects that are transformed into dynamic abstract paintings.
As an abstract artist who is self-taught, her work elicits strong emotional reactions and gives you an exciting sensory experience.
Valerie’s professional art career has been unconventional. After a successful 32- year Corporate career in Marketing, she discovered the artistic talent that lay hidden within, and her passion for abstract painting was unleashed. As a “late bloomer”, her artistic career has quickly gained momentum.
Her work has been acquired by private art collectors, interior designers and has been sold through galleries. She has been featured in a solo gallery exhibition and her paintings have been displayed in museums in Upstate New York.
Her work has been accepted into many juried exhibitions and her paintings have earned awards in various competitions.
She has been featured as a recommended artist in the BoldBrush Informed Collector publication and in an Artist Showcase article published by Artsy Shark.
Valerie was voted into the National Association of Women Artists in October 2019. During the month of November 2019, her work will be exhibited at the NAWA Gallery in NYC.
Valerie is also a member of the Art Association of Naples and The Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers.
She enjoys using her artistic talent to support fund-raising activities of charitable organizations. For several years, she has donated paintings to the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester ARTrageous events. Being an animal-lover, she has donated artwork to the Pars for Paws Golf events to benefit the Volunteer Services for Animals in Naples.
